Daniele L. Pinti is a professor in the Earth and Atmospheric Sciences Department of the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) and director of the Noble Gas Laboratory of the Geotop Center. He graduated in 1989 on soil gas geochemistry in Rome University and then obtained a PhD in noble gas geochemistry at Paris VI with a thesis on the petroleum of the Paris Basin. During his postdoc in Japan, he developed nitrogen isotopes as isotopic biomarkers in Archean rocks and worked on K-Ar geochronology as an assistant professor at the University of Paris SUD XI. Since 2004, he has been a professor at UQAM, where he built a noble gas laboratory focused mainly on crustal fluid evolution, from groundwater to geothermal brines. He has authored more than 200 publications and has served as an editor for Geochemical Journal, Scientific Reports, and Applied Geochemistry. In 2025, he was nominated for IAGC Fellow.
