Short CV of Galip YUCE 

Prof. Dr. Galip Yüce is Professor of Hydrogeology at Hacettepe University, one of Türkiye’s leading universities, where he has been a faculty member since 2013. He graduated from Hacettepe University’s Hydrogeological Engineering program in 1984, ranking second in his class, and received his M.Sc. (1990) and Ph.D. (1998) from Çukurova University. Before pursuing his academic career, he worked at the General Directorate of Mineral Research and Exploration (MTA) and the State Hydraulic Works (DSİ).

His research focuses on hydrogeology, hydrogeochemistry, isotope hydrology, geothermal systems, gas geochemistry, groundwater resources, and earthquake-related fluid–gas interactions. He has published 40 scientific articles and delivered 76 oral presentations at scientific conferences, including 42 at international meetings, four of which were invited presentations. He has participated as principal investigator or researcher in more than 20 national and international projects funded by The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK), EU-COST, and UNESCO-IGCP. He is currently co-leader of a UNESCO-IGCP project led by Prof. Li Ying of the China Earthquake Administration and a researcher in two European COST projects.

Prof. Yüce has served as an expert evaluator for European research programs and as a consultant for EU-funded groundwater projects. His international academic experience includes appointments as a visiting researcher/professor at CNR–Italy, National Taiwan University, the University of Queensland, and Utrecht University. He maintains active international collaborations, particularly with INGV–Italy. He is also an associate member of INGV. He has served as an elected committee member of the International Conference on Gas Geochemistry (ICGG) since 2007. In 2018, he received the TÜBİTAK Project Performance Award.
